Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mrs. Love passed away on Thursday, Feb. 3, in a Georgetown hospital.

Bobbie Dean Kelm Love was born on April 6, 1932, to Adele and Henry Kelm. Bobbie and twin sister Billye were born at home in Hare. It was such a marvelous event, the school was dismissed on that day so that the students could see the twins.

Bobbie married Richard Love on Aug. 25, 1950. The couple were blessed with two daughters—Jeanie Allen Jackson and Deborrah Kay Montgomery. Bobbie and Richard were married for 46 years.

Bobbie lived a life of dedicated service—service to her Lord and Savior and His church, service to her family, service to the Fireman’s Auxiliary, service to her community.

Bobbie proudly served as secretary for St. John’s Lutheran Church for many years. Bobbie served on the Thorndale Volunteer Fireman’s Auxiliary for decades and for about 20 of those years as the president, a position she held until her death. During that time, she proudly coordinated and led the preparation of those many famous turkey and dressing dinners at the Fireman’s Hall.

Bobbie volunteered year after year at the hospital in Taylor as a candy striper.

She served as a volunteer alongside Willie Calvin and many others to feed the senior citizens of Thorndale.

Bobbie’s favorite pastime was watching her grandkids’ and great-grandkids’ sporting events. She was their biggest fan.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her father, her mother, her beloved husband and brother-in-law Harry.

Bobbie is survived by her two daughters, Jeanie Jackson and husband Larry, and Debbie Montgomery and husband Don; her sister, Billye Schwarz; brother-in-law Gene and wife Kay; three sisters-in-law, Sissy, Tricia and husband Frankie, Roxie and husband Buddy; eight grandchildren, Scott and wife Julie, Tracy and John, Shelly and husband Chad, Jeremy and wife Heather, Lynette, Lana and husband Mark, Chris and wife Cindy, Melissa and husband Ben; 19 great-grandchildren, Kamryn, Ty, Weston, Wyatt, Kylar, Sierra, Hadley, Luke, Cayson, Whittney, Colby, Callen, Chris, Cooper, Corey, Cody, Jock, Jake, Jade; three great-great-grandchildren, Jase, Hudson and Ely; two nephews, Mickey and wife Suzanne, Harry Wayne and wife Eve; a great-niece, Hollye and husband Holden; four great-great-nieces and nephews, Henlye, Heston, Hayes, Hansen; and a host of other family.

Bobbie—also affectionately referred to as Mom, Mother, Granny, Mimi, Auntie Bobbie—was so very proud of her family and she loved each one dearly. She will be missed immensely.

Memorials can be made in Bobbie’s memory to Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department, St. John’s Lutheran Church Sunday School or a charity of your choice.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Scott Bishop, Jeremy Merz, great-grandsons, Ty Henderson, Colby Hajda, Callen Hajda, Weston Bishop, Wyatt Bishop, Luke Merz, Cayson Merz and great-great-grandson Hudson Holder.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Thorndale Fireman’s Auxiliary led by Billye Schwarz.
