Harold David Luckey, aka Dad, Brother, PawPaw, Uncle Harold and Uncle Joe, age 82, of Rockdale passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020 in Temple.

Harold was born Feb. 25, 1937 in Houston, Texas, to Warren Glenn Luckey and Savannah Susan (Anthis) Luckey.

Harold was a loving husband to the love of his life Sandy, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to everyone who knew him.

He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.

He worked as a machinist and electrician for many years as well as working at the aluminum plant in Rockdale.

Throughout his life, he spent his free time riding and raising horses, painting, sketching and woodworking.

No matter his situation in life, he would drop anything to help a loved one or friend in need. His old-fashion humor and quick-wit responses were entertaining and thoughtful to those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Glenn and Susan Savannah Luckey; his wife, Sandra Beth Rantz; a son, Steven Mitchell Luckey; and a grandson, Sterling Luckey.

Surviving members of his family are his twin brother William “Bill” Luckey and wife Avis of Rockdale and his beloved Pepper Dog; his half brother, Warren Glenn Luckey Jr. and wife Ida; his children, Leon Luckey of Lucas, Texas, Jayne Dorantes and husband Arturo of Schertz, Texas, Larry Luckey and fiancé Shelly of San Antonio; and grandchildren Morgan, Kennedy, Sarah Beth, Joshua, Cassandra, Bethany, Shane and Adam; also, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and many close friends that were like family to him.

We will miss him tremendously and know he is resting well with our Lord and Savior. This is where the cowboy rides away.
