McCann

John Harvey McCann III, 65, of Lexington died Tuesday, May 5, 2021, at his home.

He was born Jan. 22, 1956, to John Harvey Jr. and Leona G. (Jordon) McCann in Zanesville, Ohio.

On Dec. 28, 1975, he married Anne K. Davis in Frazeysburg, Ohio.

Mr. McCann served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years and worked as a customer service technician for Sears for 18 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and working on his ranch.

He also enjoyed building and flying airplanes. He worked on building an airplane in high school, then worked on aircraft and taught about weapon systems in the Air Force.

Mr. McCann was in the process of building an airplane (Baby Great Lakes) with the goal of putting a runway in the hay field of his ranch.

He was a member of the aero club—called Rockdale Flying Tigers—and enjoyed helping the kids in Rockdale Tiger Flight build an airplane.

Mr. McCann was preceded in death by his parents, John, Jr. and Leona McCann.

Survivors are his wife, Anne McCann of Lexington; his children, Michael and Jana McCann of Keller, John and Katherine Thurman of Lexington; and his grandchildren, Kylie Thurman and Abigail Thurman.
