Mel issa Wells

LEXINGTON—Melissa Wells, 34, of College Station died Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at her home in College Station.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington with Rev. Jonathan Meyer officiating. Burial will be at Hugh Wilson Cemetery in Tangle-wood. There is no visitation.

Ms. Wells was born Nov. 8, 1984, in Houston to William Allen and Diane Elise (Rhodes) Wells. She was confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington.

She attended school in the Lexington ISD through her junior year and graduated from A&M Consolidated. She was attending the University of North Texas in Denton for her bachelor’s degree in music.

Ms. Wells loved singing, writing songs and playing musical instruments and gave guitar lessons.

She had a strong Christian faith and loved Jesus Christ, her family and her little dogs, who were an important part of her life.

Ms. Wells was preceded in death by her father, William Allen Wells.

Survivors are her mother, Diane Elise Rhodes of Lexington; a brother, William Wells and wife Kristen of Spring; two sisters, Jessica Wells of Houston, Dianna Rutledge and husband Kurt of Cypress; and her grandmother, Lorna Patschke Rhodes of Lexington; also, several nieces and nephews and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
