Devin Austin Muston passed away on Oct. 23.

Born in Temple and raised in Rockdale, Devin was a true country boy with an old soul, a strong work ethic and a big heart. He loved his family and friends deeply and loved making everyone laugh.

Devin enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, beach trips, country music and drinking Coors Yellow Bellies with family and friends. He was especially fond of Morgan Wallen, Zach Top and classic country music.

After graduating from Rockdale High School, he worked as an inventory specialist with Riot Platforms and volunteered as a firefighter with the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department.

Devin found the love of his life in his fiancée, Katie Marie Kosel, also known as “K Dog.” They shared a love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and creating content together for his YouTube channel Devin Outdoors. Devin looked forward to building a future with his “Pookie” and starting a family of their own.

As the fourth of six children and the oldest of the “second litter,” Devin held a special place in his family.

He is survived by his fiancée, Katie Marie Kosel; his parents, Eddie Dwayne Muston and Penny Renee Muston; his siblings, Anthony Muston and wife Stephanie, Brandon Muston and wife Devann Shea, Chelsey Tindle and husband Bobby Joe Jr., Ethan Muston and fiancée Camryn Beddow, and Zachary Muston; his grandmother, Cornelia Ann Wise; and his nieces and nephews, Riley Tindle, Rhett Tindle, Jack Muston, Skylar Muston, Eli Muston and Luke Muston.

He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by Milton Carol Wise, Clifford Caffey, Patsy Muston and Eddie Muston.

Devin’s faith in God was important to him and he was baptized in the San Gabriel River last year. Though his family is heartbroken, they find comfort in knowing he is in Heaven, catching slabs with his Paw Paw once again.

Devin’s life was far too short, but he leaves behind a lifetime of love and cherished memories.

He will forever be remembered for his hard work, loyalty, infectious humor and love for those closest to him. His memory will live on in every country song, every fishing and hunting trip, and every gathering filled with family and laughter.

Forever loved, forever missed. Until we meet again, Devin. Yee yee!
