Ms. Orozco
In loving memory of Guadalupe “Lupita” Navarro Orozco: With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Guadalupe “Lupita” Navarro Orozco, who entered eternal rest on July 1, 2026, at the age of 42, surrounded by the love of her family at her home in Rockdale.
Lupita was born Dec. 21, 1983, in Rockdale, where she was raised and spent her life making a lasting impact on her community.
She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, teacher and friend whose kindness and compassion touched countless lives.
For the past 15 years, Lupita faithfully served the Rockdale Independent School District as an ESL teacher, dedicating herself to students across the district. She believed every child deserved patience, encouragement and the opportunity to succeed.
Her classroom extended far beyond four walls, and the lessons she taught will continue to live on through the many students whose lives she helped shape.
Outside of her career, Lupita was a devoted volunteer at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and found great joy in serving her community.
She also had an adventurous spirit and loved traveling the world.
Even during her courageous battle with cancer, she never let her diagnosis define her or take away her passion for exploring new places and making memories with those she loved.
Lupita was truly a friend to everyone. She had an incredible ability to make people smile and was always willing to help others, often putting their needs before her own. She was fiercely independent, remarkably strong and faced every challenge with determination and grace.
For three years, Lupi ta fought colon cancer with extraordinary courage. She met every obstacle with resilience, hope and unwavering love for her family. Her strength inspired everyone who knew her, and she continued fighting until her very last breath.
Lupita is lovingly survived by her daughter, Perla Perez; her son, Chris Perez; her daughterin- law, Karli Perez; her mother, Yolonda Orozco; her sister, Maria Santellano and husband Mark Santellano; her sister, Lorena Navarro; her brother, Jose Manuel Navarro and wife Karina Navarro; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, coworkers and the countless students whose lives she touched throughout her career.
Although her family grieves the loss of her physical presence, they find comfort in knowing that her love, kindness, and unwavering strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy is one of compassion, service, perseverance and unconditional love—a legacy that will never be forgotten.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the hospice team, friends, neighbors, coworkers and everyone who offered prayers, meals, support and love throughout Lupita’s courageous journey.
A celebration of Lupita’s life will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale at 12-noon Thursday.
The family appreciates the continued prayers and support during this difficult time.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
