Owens

Janette Owens, 79, of Rockdale died Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at her home.

Private family graveside services were held at Forest Grove Cemetery in the Forest Grove community.

Mrs. Owens was born Sept. 29, 1940, in Falfurrias to Dennis and Melva Ruth (Daniel) Lane.

She attended school in Houston at Sheldon Elementary and C.E. King High School.

On Aug. 23, 1957, she married Gerald “Jerry” Owens in Houston. They moved to Rockdale in 1972.

Mrs. Owens was a home maker and member of Forest Grove Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Owens, on July 20, 2012; her parents; and a brother, Gerald Morgan Lane.

Survivors are a daughter, Linda J. Owens of Rockdale; a son, Marcus Wayne Owens and wife Sherry of Lexington; four grandchildren, Leanna, Regina, Brandy and Candace; four great-grandchildren, Michael, Heaven, Marshall and Koen; and two sisters, Carol Granger of Houston and Donna Gray of Broadus.
