BURNET—Funeral services for June Marie Owens, 91, of Burnet will be held Jan. 30, 2021, at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet with David Watson of Benchley officiating.

Mrs. Owens died Sunday, Jan. 24, in Georgetown.

She was born Sept. 8, 1927, in Haskell to Bertie (Phemister) and Oval Shaw.

She married to Denzal Owens on July 12, 1968, in Cameron and he preceded her in death on May 3, 2015.

Mrs. Owens was a housewife and homemaker and was well known for her pies, cakes, candies and cooking.

She was a longtime member of Oaks West Church of Christ in Burnet.

Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Frank “Bill” Shaw; and her husbands, Doug Baxter and Denzal Owens.

Survivors are two daughters, Linda Whitaker and husband Mike of Shenandoah, Iowa, and Kay Story of Temple; also, six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Connor Crane, Caden Crane, Todd Johnson, Doug Yakesch, Gary Yakesch and Russell Yakesch.
