Peevey

Solon B. Peevey, 93, of Thorndale died Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Seton Williamson Medical Center in Round Rock.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at Robinson Cemetery in Robinson.

Visitation is set for 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mr. Peevey was born June 9, 1925, in Waco to Lula E. (Garza) and Solon B. Peevey Sr.

He served in the U.S. Navy from March 1944 to February 1946. After his honorable discharge, he farmed until he began working in the potrooms at Alcoa. He retired in 1988 after 25 years.

Mr. Peevey was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor.

He enjoyed using his mechanic skills.

On Nov. 21, 1954, he married Ella Frances Matthews in Temple and she preceded him in death on Dec. 1, 2018.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and five sisters.

Survivors are his daughter, Carla D. Peevey of Leander, and a number of nieces and nephews.
