Peggy Joyce Edmondson

A funeral service for Peggy Joyce Edmondson will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Bro. Harvey Abke of BCCC officiating. Burial will be at Locklin Cemetery in San Gabriel.

Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Peggy Joyce Edmondson, 88, of Rockdale passed away on Thursday, June 24, at Copperas Hollow Nursing Home in Caldwell.

She was born on Dec. 7, 1932, to Gene and Martha Lucille (Duncan) Paris at their home in Salty. She was born on rainey winter’s day.

She married Olen Keith Bean, together they had two children, Earl Douglas Bean and Kay Bean. Union of marriage was short lived.

Peggy later married Larry Burk Edmondson, her love. A family of four, grew to become a family of six. Loy Edmondson was born first to the family of four, then Dan Edmondson was born. The family was complete, a family of six.

Her love, Larry died a young husband and father.

Peggy worked in retail management until her retirement in 1989.

She loved and enjoyed her family, her home, volunteering at Heavenly Treasures, Rockdale Food Bank, and the Rockdale Train Station Museum throughout the years.

She was a proud member of the Burleson County Cowboy Church.

She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Bean; parents, Gene and Lucille Paris; and husband Larry Edmondson.

Peggy is survived by her brother: Darrell and wife Joyce Paris; nephew Keith Paris, GN Amanda, Ashley and Molly; niece Colleen Paris Ellington, GN Shay, Lee and Jace; GD Kellye Bean Shotwell, husband Joe Shotwell, GGD Sarah Towery, GGGK Sophia, Kyle and Valente Reyes; GGD Sydnee Towery, GGGK A.J, Ayden and Aniya Oranday; GD Melissa Bean Gama, husband Ivan Gama, GGD Natalie and Annie Gama; GD Jennifer Bean, GGGS Mark and Keith Quintanillo, GGGD Kelly Quintaniio and GGGD Evelyn Barrera; GS Robert Douglas Bean; daughter Kay Bean, GD Marshie Morgan; son Loy Edmondson, wife Pat, GS Allen Edmondson; Son Dan Edmondson, GD Danielle Edmondson, GGD Rozzlin Edmondson; dear friend Rick Melcher and Chico.
