Reyes

CAMERON—Cruz Reyes Jr., 72, of Cameron died Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, in a Temple hospital.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial followed in the Hernandez Cemetery.

Mr. Reyes was born June 18, 1949, in Cameron to Cruz Reyes and Basilia Salazar.

He married Elena Reina on Dec. 14, 1974.

Mr. Reyes was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista Church.

He was a Yoe High graduate, severed in the U.S. Air Force, retired from Alcoa after 35-plus years and later went on to manage Cameron Country Club.

Mr. Reyes was preceded in death by a brother, Ruben Reyes.

Survivors are his wife, Elena Reyes of Cameron; a son, Joel Reyes of Cameron; a daughter, Melinda Reyes of Cameron; four brothers, Jesse Reyes and Joe Reyes, both of Cameron, George Reyes of Belton, Jimmy Reyes of Bryan; and seven sisters, Helen Reyes and Martha Rios, both of Cameron, Millie Mendoza of Pettibone, Esther Perry Georgia, Delia Eicke of Temple, Mary Christopher of Llano, Basilia Nelson of Kingwood; also, four grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
