Joyce Roberts, 82, of Rockdale died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, at Canyon Creek Memory Care in Temple.

Services were held at Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with pastor Marcus Evans officiating. Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Mrs. Roberts was born May 27, 1939, in Brenham to Jack and Laura (Landford) Lands.

On Aug. 5, 1955, she married Wayne Roberts in Rockdale.

She was a LVN, serving patients at Ric patients at Richards Memorial Hospital, the clinic in Rockdale and St. Edwards Hospital in Cameron.

She attended Rockdale Full Gospel Church for many years.

Mrs. Roberts loved to sew, quilt, crochet, search genealogy, her animals (who returned her love), old TV programs and daily Dr Peppers. She was preceded in death

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Laura Lands; her husband, Wayne Roberts on Nov. 1, 2008; three brothers, Jack Lands, Gerald Lands and Thomas Lands; and a sister, Nancy Clark.

Survivors are a son, Eddie Roberts and wife Donna of Rockdale; a daughter, Rebecca Parker and husband Tim of Temple; four grandchildren, Laura Dolson and husband Dale, Allen Parker and wife Megan, Emily Hinojosa and husband Jeff and Kristen Zycha and husband JD; 10 great-grandchildren, Mason Hinojosa, Carson Hinojosa, Bella Hinojosa, Rylee Bankston, Colby Bankston, Dylan Dolson, and future blessing Jace Parker, Tyler Roberts, Arianna Zycha, Dawson Zycha and Jensen Zycha.

Pallbearers were Dale Dolson, Jeff Hinojosa, Allen Parker, JD Zycha, Jeff Springer and Jonathan Muston. Honorary pallbearers were
