Rosa Paniagua Garcia

Rosa Paniagua Garcia, 97, of Groesbeck, formerly of Milano, died Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Groesbeck Nursing & Rehab.

Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale with Rev. Pete Paniagua of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slaton officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Rockdale.

Visitation is set for 6 to 8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. Friday, March 15, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rock-dale.

Mrs. Garcia was born Aug. 31, 1921 in Michoacán, Mexico, to Jeremiahs and Antonia Paniagua.

She married Ysidro Garcia on Aug. 18, 1945, in Cameron.

Mrs. Garcia enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting and making you laugh.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ysidro Garcia; a son, Joe Garcia; three brothers, Louis Paniagua and wife Matea, Elias Paniagua and wife Georgia, and Angel Paniagua; two sisters, Guadalupe Vasquez and husband Ebodio, Herminia Ruiz and husband Eusebio; and a son-in-law, Bob Garrison.

Survivors are a son, Arturo Joe Garcia and wife Maria of Red Oak; a daughter, Celia Garrison of Groesbeck; her grandchildren, April Starks and husband David Jr. of Red Oak, Matthew Garcia of San Diego, California; and her great-grandchildren, Ethan and Ian Starks of Red Oak; also, many nieces, nephews and their children.

Pallbearers will be David Starks Jr., Ian Starks, Matthew Garcia, Joe Paniagua, Raymond Vasquez and Joe Garcia.
