Rowley

Evelyn Joy (Bland) Rowley, 83, of Marietta, Ohio, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at Harmar Place in Marietta.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 6, at the Mc Ciure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following at Oak Grove Cemetery in Marietta, Ohio.

Mrs. Rowley was born Dec. 5, 1937, in Rockdale to Harry L. and Margaret (Doss) Bland, formerly of Rockdale.

On Dec. 5, 1970, she married Larry Rowley. They had recently celebrated their 50th anniversary.

Mrs. Rowley was a 1956 graduate of Milby High School in Houston and attended Lamar University in Beaumont.

She was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and retired in 1982 after 25 years of employment.

She then obtained her real estate license.

Mrs. Rowley was a member of Warren Chapel Methodist Church in Marietta, Ohio.

She enjoyed oil painting, working in her flower gardens and traveling, including cruises to Alaska.

Survivors are her husband, Larry Rowley; a brother, Billy Bland and Clara of Rockdale; and her sisters, Betty Maresh and Carl of Caldwell, Barbara (Bobbie) Gardner of Cleveland, Lee Houston and Jerry of Hearne, Laura Bartee and Jack of Montgomery; also, many other family members and friends.
