CAMERON—Clydell M Seaton, 81, a caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, with family by her side.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Liberty C low at Liberty Cemetery near Hanover.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, at the funeral home.

Ms. Seaton was born Aug. 12, 1940, in Cameron to Clyde and Ellen (Woods) McCulloch. After her mother’s early death, she was also raised by her stepmother Aliene Hutto McCulloch.

She graduated from Galena Park High School in 1957 and went on to get a degree in business education.

Ms. Seaton worked for the Cameron Herald for 50 years, retiring in 2020. She also worked with her long-time friend, Mary Jo Hux, cleaning business offices.

Ms. Seaton was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Cameron.

Survivors are a sister, Ann Brewer of Houston; three children, Damon Seaton and wife Susan of Bryan, Karen Barrett and husband Billy of Temple, Clyde Seaton of Cameron; and her grandchildren, Heather Ward and husband George, Bobby Seaton, Billy Ray Barrett II and wife Sarah, Lindsey Tatum and husband Tatum, Nikki Seaton, Mandi Williamson and husband Jason; also, eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother and a sister, Gloria Fuessel and husband Don.
