Shed

Graveside services for Joyce Ann Shed, 89, of Lexington was held Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021, at Tobey Cemetery in Oakalla with Donna Crowel officiating.

Mrs. Shed died Monday, Aug. 9, at Will-O-Bell Nursing Home in Bartlett.

She was born April 20, 1932, in Streetman, one of four children to Fred Douglas and Lela (Sanders) Rankin.

On May 5, 1951, she married Mabry Ray Shed in Prairie Dell.

After settling in Lexington, she worked in the Lexington ISD cafeteria as a cook for 10 years, retiring in 1994.

After retirement, she devoted her time to her husband until his death.

Mrs. Shed was a member of Tanglewood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Douglas and Lela Rankin; her husband, Mabry on July 24, 2001; two sons, Jimmy on Sept. 29, 1960, and Darrell on July 7, 2018; two brothers, Glen and Jimmie Rankin; and a sister, Doris Faye Rankin.

Survivors are her children, Douglas Shed and wife Nita of New Braunfels, Karen Baron and husband Joseph of Canyon Lake, David Shed and wife Teresa of Giddings, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
