Shirley Ann Drummond Lands

Shirley Ann Drummond Lands, 81, died at Colonial Oaks Assisted Living in Pearland on Sept. 26, 2019.

A graveside service was held Wednesday, Oct. 2, at IOOF Cemetery in Rockdale.

Ms. Lands was born on May 18, 1938, to Daniel Calvin Drummond Sr. and Juanita Reed in Tracy, where she grew up with her older sister, Sue Riddles, and younger brother, Daniel Calvin Drummond II.

She graduated salutatorian from Sharp High School in 1956. Later in life, she attended the University of Houston, and accomplished her bachelor studies, followed by her master’s in psychology.

Ms. Lands had an entrepreneurial spirit, opening and operating a large day care for children in Deer Park, developing and operating a bed-and-breakfast in Mexia, and managing rental properties for decades.

She loved the Lord, and was a long-time member of Calvary Chapel Assembly of God in Pasadena.

Ms. Lands was preceded in death by her husband, D.H. Tolar; her mother, Juanita; her father, Daniel Calvin Sr.; a brother, D.C. Jr.; a grandson, John-Michael Rasmussen; a granddaughter, Laurynn Ashleigh Lands; and a great-grandson, Cody Slot.

Survivors are a daughter, Angela Adams and husband Leslie of La Porte, and their children, Adam Rasmussen (and wife Brittany), Leslie Adams Jr. (and wife Christy), Stephanie Anderson (and husband Mike); two sons, Chris Adams (and wife Leticia), David Lands and wife Carla Wallace of Manvel, and their children, Tamora Carson (and husband John) of Greenville, South Carolina, John-David Lands of Deer Park, Jacklyn Lands of Clear Lake, Chea Brehmer (and husband Josh) of Rosharon, Winter Burke (and husband Nolan) of Rosharon; a sister, Sue and husband George Riddle of Mexia; and a sister-in-law, Yvonne Drummond, of Branenton, Florida; also, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and great-grandchildren.
