Silvey

Mass for Billy Joe “B.J.” Silvey, 41, of Gause were held Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale with Rev. Pedro Castillo officiating. Burial was at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

A rosary was held during the visitation on Monday, Sept. 27, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mr. Silvey died Thursday, Sept. 23, at St. Joseph Hospital in College Station.

He was born Dec. 7, 1979, in La Grange to Henry and Debbie (Gabriel) Silvey.

He graduated from Milano High School Class of 1999.

Mr. Silvey always put others above himself and cared about everyone’s well being.

He enjoyed singing, dancing, WWE wrestling, hunting, fishing, going to the MARC Center, going to the Rockdale Fair, playing 42, and basketball.

Mr. Silvey was spirit-filled and loved God and his church.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dale and Betty Silvey and Lawrence and Helen Gabriel.

Survivors are his parents, Henry and Debbie Silvey of Gause; brother, Shane Silvey of Rockdale; a sister, Sabrina Silvey of College Station; two nephews, Caden Silvey and Chase Silvey; and two nieces, Alyssa Johnston and Briana Johnston.

Pallbearers were Caden Silvey, Chase Silvey, Nick Gabriel, Scott Gabriel, Sonny Gabriel and Donny Sims.

Honorary pallbearers were Arthur Neal “Cluck Cluck” and Troy Arledge.
