Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Brenda was born in Milam County on June 25, 1951, and was the first born of W.F. “Buck” and Helen Jones.

She attended Milano school as a child and later transferred to Rockdale where she would meet her future husband, Raymond Charles Skrhak.

Brenda graduated from Rockdale High School and became a homemaker.

Brenda was a mother to two boys, Michael and Mark. She loved and was blessed with two daughters- in-law, Jodi and Jessica. She also loved and enjoyed her five grandchildren, Jared, Joshua, Zeb, Gage and Ryan.

Brenda was an active mother and was involved in the Chisholm Trail Cub Scouts of America organization and served in the district council. She was the recipient of many awards and recognition due to her dedicated volunteer service to the organization.

She also wrote the weekly news column for The Rockdale Reporter, keeping everyone updated on the news regarding the Cub Scouts.

Brenda was a wife and homemaker and took pride in her home and yard work. She was a devoted wife to her husband and children often placing their needs above her own. She was the best example of a Christian I have known.

Upon the untimely passing of her husband Raymond, she had to seek employment and found a temporary job at the Senior Citizens Center in Rockdale. After a short while she was offered a part-time job assisting the less fortunate with energy assistance and worked side by side with Carolyn Cooper. Brenda always enjoyed her job and the company she kept. She made lots of friends and enjoyed the fellowship of the senior citizens community.

Brenda was also a member of Forest Grove Christian Church and attended services there. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and lived out her faith daily for others to see. She always maintained a servanthood attitude and positive example for others to follow.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband Raymond Skrhak, brother-in-law Jimmy Stigler and her only sister, Debbie Stigler.

Surviving are her sons, Michael and Jodi Skrhak, Mark and Jessica Skrhak, Jared, Joshua, Gage, Ryan and Zeb Skrhak.

In lieu of flowers, make denotations to Forest Grove Christian Church, 8902 US 77 S., Rockdale, TX 76567 in Brenda’s memory.
