Phillip Stephenson, 69, of Rockdale passed away on June 13, 2026.
Born on Oct. 24, 1956, in La Marque, Phillip was the son of William and Eula Stephenson.
He lived a life marked by hard work, kindness and a genuine love for people.
After moving to Rockdale in 1992, he founded Southern Lawn Care, a business he proudly owned and operated for many years.
Phillip was known for his passion for collecting a wide variety of treasures and for the joy he found in spending time with family and friends. He never met a stranger and was always willing to take the time to sit, visit and get to know the people around him. His customers became friends, and his warm personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Phillip had a special love for animals and a compassionate heart for any creature in need. He enjoyed caring for animals throughout his life and found great joy in their companionship. His love for animals was just another reflection of the generosity and warmth he shared with everyone around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Eula Stephenson.
Phillip is survived by his sister, Belinda Adair; his nieces and nephews, Brooks Adair and wife Elizabeth, Stephanie McLawhorn, Heath Adair and wife Josie, Heather Smith and husband D.J; his 12 great-grandnephews and nieces, Davey McLawhorn, Arianna McLawhorn, Ayden McLawhorn, Dylan McLawhorn, Elise Adair, Oliver Smith, Isabella Adair, Lucas Smith, Logan Smith, Ronan Adair, Willow Smith and Jeremiah.
Phillip’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
