Survant

James Arthur “Jimmie” Survant, 85, of Thorndale died at his home on Monday, Aug. 19, 2019.

No services are scheduled.

He was born June 22, 1934, in Thorndale to Ervin Pittman and Margaret Fanny (Irvin) Survant.

Mr. Survant was a lifelong Thorndale resident. He graduated from Thorndale High School and was a member of First Baptist Church.

For 24 years, he worked as an engineer in the Water Shed Department with the U.S. Government. He retired in 1980.

On Oct. 4, 1953, he married Wynell Sorenson in Thorndale.

Mr. Survant was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bob Survant; and a granddaughter, Racheal Survant.

Survivors are his wife, Wyn-ell Survant of Thorndale; a son, Jim Survant and wife Laura of Lubbock; two daughters, Corla Jean Parker and husband Phil of Round Rock, Wynette Murray of Bryan; a brother, Ervin Survant of Salado; and two sisters, Sara Lee Perryman of Gates-ville, Margaret Ellen Good of Pflugerville; also, eight granddaughters and 19 great-grandchildren.
