Truette Lee Cliver

DALLAS—Truette Lee Cliver, 67, was called home to be with his beloved Lord on Aug. 17, 2019, in Dallas.

A graveside service was held Friday, Sept. 20.

Mr. Cliver was born on Jan. 17, 1952, in Waxahachie to William Douglas (Doug) and Peggy Arlene Cliver.

He was raised in Dallas and Rockdale and also spent some childhood years in California and spent many summers with his grandparents in Malakoff.

Mr. Cliver graduated from Rockdale High School in 1971. He also attended Trinity Valley Junior College, and Texas A&M University where he served in the Corps. He went on to study architecture at the University of Texas at Austin.

He serve in the U.S. Air Force and he will be buried with full honors at DFW Veterans Cemetery.

Mr. Cliver was a talented architect and worked with various companies, as well as owning his own architectural company for many years. He later became involved in venture real estate, and designed and built various office buildings and shopping centers around the Dallas area.

His first love was the church and after becoming ordained, he served at various churches in associate and music capacities until he began his own church in the 80’s. His first goal was always to lead those around him to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.

His sunny disposition and positive outlook on life was a bright ray of light to all of those who came to know him.

Mr. Cliver was preceded in death by his parents, William Douglas (Doug) Cliver and Peggie Arlene Stephenson-Tankursley, and foster parents Grady Lee Cumbie and Dorothy Louise Cliver Cumbie.

Survivors are his sweetheart, Monica Long; three sisters, Tameria Lane Loubier, her children, Jessica Perry and Charles Cox; Francena Nanette Murillo, her children, Tabetha Cox, Heather El-Sayed, Rachel Ballowe, and Angelica Murillo; Lisa Van Zant, her daughter, Megan Cloyd; and brother, Shawn Tankursley; also, Rosemary Cumbie Lawrence, Darleen Cumbie Tucker, and Don Cumbie; daughters and son of Grady Lee and Dorothy Louise Cumbie, as well as a host of other family and friends.
