Vincent

MINERVA—Wayne Offie Vincent Sr., 72, of Minerva died Thursday, May 2, 2019, at his home.

Services were held Monday, May 6, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial followed at Minerva Cemetery.

Mr. Vincent was born June 30, 1946, in Culver City, California, to Joe Otha Vincent Sr. and Georgianna (Dewey) Vincent.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

He married Barbara Ann Rhoades on May 28, 1971.

Mr. Vincent retired from G.T.E. after more than 26 years of service.

He had served as an Assembly of God minister for almost 50 years, serving his last 10-1/2 years at First Assembly of God Church in Cameron.

Mr. Vincent was a member of the Cameron Ministerial Alliance, where he had served as past president, and he was a member of the American Legion in Rockdale.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Vincent.

Survivors are his wife, Barbara Vincent of Minerva; two sons, Wayne Vincent Jr. of Mexia, Ryan Vincent of Corsicana; two daughters, Elaine Gillen of Kerrville, Deanna Senko of Midlothian; and two brothers, Joe Vincent Jr. of Georgetown, Bill Vincent of Texas City; also, 13 grandchildren, a step-granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.
