Walker

Gary Raymond Walker, 71, of Rockdale died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Dr. Greg Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rock-dale.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31.

Mr. Walker was born June 6, 1948, in Taylor to Raymond and Inez (Neal) Walker. He lived most of his life in Rockdale.

He served as a financial officer in the U.S. Air Force, he worked for the State Treasury Department, he was vice president at Citizens National Bank and also worked several years at Rockdale Hardware Store.

Mr. Walker was a Master Mason at Rockdale Masonic Lodge No. 414 and was a member of First Christian Church in Rockdale.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Inez Walker; and a sister, Susan E. Walker.

Survivors are a son, Byron Walker of Seguin; a brother, Mike Walker and wife Shirly of Rockdale; and two nephews, Keith Walker and wife Emily of Temple, Kyle Walker of Austin; and an uncle, Wayne Neal and wife Ann of Rockdale.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
