We give thanks and celebrate the life of John William Willard Jr., 79, who succumbed to pulmonary fibrosis from his Tennessee home on Oct. 20, 2021.

John was born in Lufkin on June 25, 1942.

Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Rockdale Full Gospel Church in Rockdale, with burial at Black Jack Cemetery in Black Jack.

John was an accomplished musician, teacher, orchestra conductor, retired from T.U. Electric, owned and operated a trucking business, and was Director of Community Standards at Sun City Texas.

He was loved and respected by those who knew him; significantly touching the lives of many.

He had a personal relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ and loved serving Him.

John loved his wife and family. He will be missed by so many.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth Willard; sister Dorothy and husband Julian Estelle; brother Tommy Willard; son Jason Willard; and brother-in-law Jimmy Ford.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Linda Willard; a sister, Mary Ford; a daughter, Laura Lynn West and husband Tim; sons BJ (John William Willard III), and wife Holly, Steven Lee Willard; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by stepdaughters Tonya Gibson, Leah Stenzel, Tricia Reynolds, Gina Carbajal; and stepson Wayne McLaws; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be sons BJ and Steven Willard, grandsons Christian Willard, Nathaniel Rangel, Seth Rangel and cousin Slade Cowan.

Honorary pallbearers are grandsons Boston Reynolds, Tavo Armendariz and son-in-law Rick Reynolds.
