Woodward

Francesca (Fran) Trevisan Woodward of Cedar Park (and formerly of Rockdale) passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021.

A memorial service will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Rockdale at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 10.

On Feb. 25th, 1939, Fran was born in Mexico City. She moved to the United States when she was a child, living in New Mexico and South Texas, where she graduated from Uvalde (Texas) High School.

She married Jack Mitchell Scott and together they had a daughter, Susan Scott Henderson.

She later wed James Woodward, and they remained married until his death in 2016. Together they added daughters Jamie Woodward Buzan and Mary Louisa Woodward and sons Joel Woodward and Christopher “Chopper” Woodward to the family.

First and foremost, Fran was a wife and mother (and later grandmother). What she loved most in this world was her big family, and she was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones. Anytime there was a family celebration, sporting event, or school activity for any of her descendants, she was there and smiling. Her love also extended to her many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Those who knew her best describe her as loving, quirky, relentless, modest, sweet, and fun. Had she been financially wealthy, she would also have been described as eccentric.

She loved both telling and hearing a good story (and no detail was ever too small to include), Tex-Mex food, Agatha Christie books, sampling one bite from everyone else’s plate at restaurants, the TV show “Blue Bloods” (or maybe it was just Tom Selleck she liked) and a good cheeseburger.

She is survived by her five children, 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

In Heaven she was preceded by husband Jim, parents Iberio and Felice Trevisan, sister Genevieve Trevisan Pryor, and great-grandson Rhett Ford Buzan.

In lieu of flowers, we request donations be made in her memory to Meals on Wheels.
