Woolverton

James Clayton Woolverton, 78 of Rockdale passed away on Nov. 30, 2023, in a Cameron nursing home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor David Hankins officiating. Interment was at Sand Grove Cemetery in Milano.

James was born July 8, 1945 in Rockdale to J. D. Woolverton and Dorothy Lucille “Andrews” Woolverton.

He was a life-long resident of Milam County.

James served on the USS Thor in the U.S. Navy and did body work and auto mechanics.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roy Woolverton.

Survivors are a sister and her husband, Doris and Charles “Buck” Hairston of Rockdale; and his nieces and nephews, Sheryll Hairston, Rhett Hairston, Michael Hairston, Danny Hairston, Doug Woolverton and Crystal Woolverton.
