Lent fish fries start Friday at KC Hall

The annual Lenten Fish Fries by Knights of Columbus Council 7014 begin Friday at the KC Hall and continue every Friday of Lent. Hours are 5 to 7:30 p.m., or until sold out, and plates are priced at $10 each. Rockdale’s KC Hall is located on US 79 just east of the city limits.

Rockdale City Manager Chris Whittaker is heading to the coast. Well, almost to the coast. Whittaker told The Reporter Tuesday he has accepted the position of interim city manager for that Brazoria County city of about 20,000. “My last day in Rockdale will be March 13,” he said.

CAMERON—Bond for a 31-year-old Rockdale resident facing a capital murder trial for the killing of a 20-month-old girl at an East Rockdale residence, has been increased to $3-million in advance of a pre-trial hearing, now scheduled for Thursday, March 5, according to Prosecutor Bill Torrey.
