—About 60 bikers participated in the annual Buddy Oney Toy Run which left The Ranch at 11 a.m. Saturday, Organizer Charles Starr said the event raised about $7,500, including $2,500 from a donor who wished to remain anonymous.

KAY DONATION

—The recent Christmas at the Kay musical presentation at Rockdale’s historic Kay Theatre netted 215 pounds of food for the needy. The food was donated to the Rockdale Christian Services Food Pantry. Bob Burnett, Kay Theatre board member is shown with the food in the RCS Pantry.

RJH one-act play runner-up

Rockdale Junior High’s Theatre class performed “Twelve Angry Women”, a play based on Reginald Rose’s classic “Twelve Angry Men” at the District 10-3A Junior-High One-Act Play competition on Thursday in Cameron.

End of an era

At 12-noon Jan. 2, Rockdale will be without a stand-alone pharmacy for the first time ever. CVS Pharmacy has posted a sign saying it is calling it quits for its Rockdale location at 1525 West Cameron (US 79). This year CVS had announced 68 locations would close.
