City council sets tax rate vote Monday

QUICK LOOK The Rockdale City Council is expected to act on the 2019-20 tax rate during its regular monthly session a 5:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall. Unless something changes over the weekend that tax rate is expected to be virtually identical to the current 91.18 cents.

City dodges TCEQ water fine

A $95,500 Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) fine, looming over the city’s water system since last November, is going away. City Manager Chris Whittaker told The Reporter the city has reached an agreement with TCEQ to install six manholes along US 79 in lieu of the fi ne.
