Israel lecture deadline for reservations Saturday Dr. James Fleming will present a program called “Lessons About God From the Lands of the Bible” at St. John’s United Methodist Church on Sept. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with check-in at 8:30 a.m.

Allen Sanders, RISD community relations director, awarded Climate Control A/C and Heating Owner Nathan Doelitsch the Stand Up for Texas Public Schools Award on behalf of the RISD board.

Food management class offered in Lee County

Whe ee Count office of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will offer two Food Protection Management trainings; Sept. 16-17 and Nov. 4-5. Each training will be held in the Lee County Extension office, located at 310 South Grimes in Giddings. Class will begin at 9 a.m. Registration is ongoing.

Cemetery associations to meet September 1 Murray Cemetery Association annual business meeting will be held Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10-11 a.m. at the Perry Community Room, 109 N. Main, Rock-dale. An appetizer social will follow.

Ag fundraiser tickets available

MILANO NEWS Time is running out to get your chance at a “freezer full of meat.” The Milano/ Gause Ag Booster Club is selling tickets as a fall fundraiser. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. Prize includes 7-cu.-ft. freezer, processed pig, turkey, and chicken, along with processing cost cuts.
