RVFD HELP OUT

The Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department was one of the many emergency crews who responded to Franklin Saturday in the wake of a devastating tornado. The U. S. Weather Bureau termed the twister an EF-3—winds at least 158 miles per hour.

Volunteer firefighter hurt in crash

POLICE REPORT A veteran Rockdale firefighter sustained serious injuries Friday night in a two-vehicle collision while backing into his driveway in the 1400 block of Murray Avenue. Police and firefighters reported RVFD Lt. John Villareal was struck broadside at 10:04 p.m.

MILANO GARAGE SALE

The annual Milano Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary Spring Garage Sale brought in about $7,000 in 2019. The three-day sale was held in the MVFD, including both the truck bay and shelter room.

Liberty church to host Easter sunrise services

MILANO NEWS Liberty Community Church will host Easter sunrise services at 7 a.m. Sunday. Bro. Roy Dillard and Bro. Loren Johnson will conduct the services. There will be a pot luck breakfast following the service and everyone is asked to break a favorite breakfast dish.

Jackson Perry and Cassidy Smith have been named Mr. and Mrs. Rockdale High School. Winners of the annual award were announced at Saturday night’s RHS Prom in the Patterson Civic Center.
