A Hardin County game warden patrolling Village Creek by boat came across a woman in distress. Two ladies had been paddling in two separate canoes when one of the women flipped over in deep water with a strong current and couldn’t get loose from the trees or get her belongings out of the canoe.

In just over one week, the number of confirmed cases in Milam County jumped by six, from 20 confirmed cases to 26 confirmed cases. During that same period, TDSHS reports that the number of confirmed Texas COVID-19 cases increased by over 15 percent in the past week.

100 YEARS AGO.... A Texas Court of Appeals invalidated the state’s cattle-dipping law on a legal action brought by J.M. Leslie of Sipe Springs in Milam County. Leslie’s attorneys argued, successfully, that the law was unconstitutional.
