Game wardens quell storms

A Hardin County game warden patrolling Village Creek by boat came across a woman in distress. Two ladies had been paddling in two separate canoes when one of the women flipped over in deep water with a strong current and couldn’t get loose from the trees or get her belongings out of the canoe.

Dear editor, Hello to every0ne at The Rockdale Reporter. I have been enjoying your newspaper for over five years. Your recent addition of Raynard Churchwell as sports editor was a good one.

Some of Rockdale’s food for thought

Wendy Brinkley Pickett came to see me the other day and she told me some information I have to share because I am very excited about it. You all already know that she has revamped the inside of Mr. Gatti’s Pizza in WayMar Plaza. What you may not know is that she is going to have a giant salad bar.

In just over one week, the number of confirmed cases in Milam County jumped by six, from 20 confirmed cases to 26 confirmed cases. During that same period, TDSHS reports that the number of confirmed Texas COVID-19 cases increased by over 15 percent in the past week.

100 YEARS AGO.... A Texas Court of Appeals invalidated the state’s cattle-dipping law on a legal action brought by J.M. Leslie of Sipe Springs in Milam County. Leslie’s attorneys argued, successfully, that the law was unconstitutional.
