Angels unaware in Rockdale Dear editor, Every day that God gives me I am thankful. As a mortal getting on in age and having lived a full life, I’ve had the thought “What would happen if I had a medical emergency?” Maybe you’ve had that thought as well.

Ispent some time on Friday and Saturday taking pictures at the Apache Pass car show and barbeque cookoff. Since it had rained and I thought it would be muddy, I wore an old pair of shoes in which I nearly lost it in some mud. I just knew I was going down, but somehow I managed not to.

New pastor at St. John’s UMC

Madison Garcia-Tabor will the new pastor at St. John’s United Methodist Church on October 1. Garcia-Tabor grew up in Longview and felt her first nudge toward ordained ministry in sixth grade during confirmation class.

10-20-40-100 YEARS AGO 100 YEARS AGO… Sept. 20 was Trades Day in Rockdale. It was also “Ford Day” and on that occasion Rockdale would produce the biggest “Ford Blowout” every seen in Central Texas. About one year ago Rockdale held a “Ford Day,” the first ever held in Milam County.
