Walking by faith

“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14 I’m working from the home office today getting prepared for Sunday morning. What can you say about the Christmas story that has not already been said? It’s a challenge for sure.

Thank you, Lord, for saving the world

In 1968, in a space race against the Soviets, and truly unprepared for the voyage, NASA launched Apollo 8 to orbit the moon, and astronauts Frank Borman, Jim Lovell and Bill Anders became the first humans to leave the bonds of Earth. They would reach their destination on Christmas Eve. On Dec.

Gov. Abbott, no

Legislators rejected broad school choice bill and rightly so After four special sessions, it’s time for Gov. Greg Abbott to take no for an answer.

Who are people to you?

Back in November, I had the pleasure to attend the Southern Baptist of Texas Annual Meeting. That is the state convention that our church is a part of. During that meeting, we heard some amazing preaching, but one preacher really stuck out to me. It was Dr. Greg Matte from Houston’s First.

Alzheimer’s gift guide

Holiday shopping and gift-giving can often be challenging, but even more so when shopping for a person living with dementia. There are more than six million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease.

Out of the mouths of babes

There are a lot of us who have issues with the holidays when some family members are no longer present and I’m one of them. My sister Kathy was always the big Christmas person in our family and she’s no longer here to make it fun and exciting.
