100 YEARS AGO... The Rockdale Reporter presented the complete program for the County Interscholastic School Meet which was to come to Rockdale April 15. It wasn’t decided until the first of the week that the event would be held in Rockdale, and the arrangements were quickly made.

Chances are if you grew up in the United States you’ll have Easter memories of getting all dressed up in a fancy new outfit for the Easter service at church, moms doing their daughters hair and wearing hats, dying Easter eggs and going Easter egg hunting and eating lots of candy.

With the new $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill passed, we hope Congress and the White House will now show some concern about something that will hang around longer than this pandemic — the national debt.

I recently read that most people who attend church regularly have a “silent goal” of becoming a better Christian. That sounds good except these same people have no plan in order to become a better Christian. This is like saying I’m going to lose weight but never exercising or going on a diet.

A couple of dessert recipes for Easter Sunday

The punk rock movement started in the 1970s and finally made its way to Rockdale at the very end of that decade. Or at least that’s when my friends and I became aware of it. None of us were really into country music or going dancing at the KC Hall but we did give it a go our sophomore year.
