No-Knead Crusty White Bread

I keep seeing this recipe going around from the King Arthur Baking Co. and it looks so easy I think even I can make it. And Lord knows I love some crusty bread. For so few ingredients there are a lot of instructions.

Going to school

Standing on the front steps 0f Rockdale High School at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, two things were obvious, simultaneously. This looked just like the first day of school. This didn’t look a thing like the first day of school. That sounds odd, but the odd is the normal in this topsy-turvy year of 2020.

2015 column brought memories of ‘Fate’ Dear editor, This is in reference to a column I read in the commentary section of The Rockdale Reporter. It was dated Oct. 8, 2015 in the Editor’s Corner by Mike Brown. I knew Fate Arnwine (occasional Reporter columnist). He probably would not remember me.

A fun new contest is headed our way and it’s something we can all get behind. The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a new contest “The Best of Rockdale 2020.” There are 51 different categories of business we can all vote on to see who our favorites are.

Take pride in county by keeping it clean

It is important for us to keep our county clean and sanitary. An unsightly mess is certainly not appealing for anyone especially those new to the county. Most often these issues are violative of the various State Health and Safety laws.

100 YEARS AGO.... Rockdale High School’s faculty was complete for then 1920-21 school year. Principal was E. S. Guest and other teachers were Mary Catherine Hill, Virginia Ward and Rachael Marshall Rockdale’s new (volunteer not school) band staged an impromptu concert in front of the Dixie Theater.

Some creamy, cooling avocado recipes

Here’s an interesting recipe for a corn and avocado salad. Just put the corn in raw. And there’s a nice jalapeño dressing too.
