Rockdale Rotary Club meets the first, third and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department from noon to 1 p.m. Lunch is provided. Rockdale Noon Lions Club also meets at RVFD on the first and third Wednesday of each month with lunch provided.

Milano powerlifters perform well in Buffalo meet last week

The Milano boys and girls competed in a powerlif ting meet Jan. 10 in Buffalo and did quite well. (See Sports, page 9A). These kids practice in the early mornings before school. True dedication to their sport. BASKETBALL— Basketball is still in season.

Easy casseroles to warm us up

This weather has me wanting something beefy, tomato-y and cheese-y, so I’m thinking it’s time for a casserole to warm me up. This first one sounds easy and delicious.

Our goals in the sentencing phase

This week, I would like to talk with you about the goal when sentencing a defendant. This question basically boils down to this: what are we trying to accomplish when giving a defendant a specific sentence?

One accident reported in light week for RPD

On Friday, Jan. 12, at 4:54 p.m., Of f icers Wall, Lentz and Sgt. Ha responded to a three-vehicle accident along with the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department in the 700 block of West Cameron Avenue. No injuries were reported and Ofc. Wall is investigating the accident.
