Has your love grown cold?

As I write this, it has just warmed up above freezing for the first time in over forty-eight hours. It was 14 degrees at our house last night. It took over an hour to shut off t he water from a busted water pipe. At one point (it was 25 degrees at the time) I literally lost feeling in my fingers.

When I was younger, I had a strong, firm grip. I did not have issues holding on to things. I could grab a wrench and bear down on it with all my might; the wrench would not slip out of my hand.

We goofed last week thinking Kane Quinney was the first baby of the year who was born on Jan. 7. The Reporter got a call on Wednesday morning after the online edition came out from Candace Timmerman whose baby, Ella, was born two days prior to Kane on Friday, Jan. 5.

Icy, cold weather may have canceled the planned MLK Day parade, but Grand Marshall Rev. Danny Mitchell delivered a message of unity to both customers and employees at Walmart on Monday morning. The company provided a cake and cookies.

County, cities update Hazard Mitigation Plan; meets Jan. 30

In coordination with Milam County, the cities of Rockdale, Cameron, Thorndale, Buckholts and Milano are updating the Milam County Hazard Mitigation Plan.

Milano High School to host Miss Globe pageant

Milano High School will hold their annual Miss Globe pageant at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, in the high school cafetorium. The pageant is a fundraiser for Project Graduation and will include a silent auction. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children and senior citizens.
