School started back this week. There will be classes Monday through Friday. Coats Grocery is now open seven days a week, serving burgers Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. They will serve barbecue brisket lunches with beans and potato salad Saturday from 11 a.m. until sold out.

Monday—MLK holiday. Tuesday—Beef patty, bowtie noodles, squash, garlic bread, spiced apples, 2% milk. Wednesday—Barbecue on bun, sweet potato fries, onion, lettuce, tomatoes, apples, 2% milk. Thursday—Chicken and dumplings, peas and carrots, cornbread, banana pudding with wafers, 2% milk.

Milam 4-H more than just agriculture, home economics

Most people think about 4-H as your traditional agricultural and home economics projects, such as showing animals, cooking and sewing, but 4-H is much more than just those projects. The photography project is an opportunity to teach youth skills that they can use every day when taking a photo.

Camp Hearne Historic Site announces the launch of its newest historical activity, “Das Kaserne,” a prisoner of war escape experience that invites participants to step back in time and uncover the challenges faced by prisoners behind barbed-wire fences during World War II.

Don’t be lukewarm

Iwas reminded this week of something that happened to one of our grandsons when he was about ten years old. The kids were living in Dallas at the time and while walking home from school he got stung on his cornea by a bee.
