Recipes using leftover turkey

We always have one regular turkey and one smoked turkey at Thanksgiving so there are usually leftovers. This sounds like a good turkey salad recipe to use up the meat.

ORGANIZATIONS

Rockdale Rotary Club meets the first, third and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department from noon to 1 p.m. Lunch is provided. Rockdale Noon Lion’s Club also meets at RVFD on the first and third Wednesday of each month with lunch provided.

Lions Club pancake supper set for Saturday

Milano Lions Club will have a pancake supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Please come out and support them. Basketball season is up and running. Please check social media for dates and times of all games.

his Monday was cloudy and very dreary. Since it is November, that is the kind of weather we have this time of year. The younger ones would love snow—enough to build a snowman. It is hard to believe it is November. Time to start getting everything together for Christmas—and buying gifts.

Buttered rolls, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, pea salad, fruit salad, turkey, stuffing, more gravy, ham, candied yams, pumpkin pie, apple pie, more turkey and dressing, a dab more of cranberry sauce, another buttered roll, pecan pie.

Walk the walk

Iwas just looking at sports news and I wonder why you see some teams stuck in some form of neutral? Teams like Texas A & M, the Cleveland Browns and even my own TCU Horned Frogs after playing in last year’s national championship are leaning towards it right now. What’s up with that?

CHURCH NEWS

Connect Church is holding a Friendsgiving event following morning worship on Sunday and a hamburger bar with all the fixings will be the meal. Worship starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Rockdale Elementary School gym. All are welcome and come casual.
