Senior pastor installation set at St. Paul Lutheran

A Celebration of Installation service will be held on Sunday, November 19 at 3 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale to install Rev. Jeffrey Doria as the new Senior Pastor. Immediately following the service, a reception with refreshments will be held in the St. Paul Family Activity Center.

Under the direction of Bill Torrey, the Milam County District Attorney, the following felony cases were recently resolved in Judge John W. Youngblood’s 20th Judicial District Court:

Worley Bridge historical marker dedication

The historic Worley Bridge across the San Gabriel River near Apache Pass received the prestigious Recorded Texas Historical Landmark designation from the Texas Historical Commission. The Milam County Historical Commission (MCHC) hosted the marker dedication on Sunday.

Former RISD teacher surrenders to authorities

Christmas tree lighting November 16 Rockdale Downtown Association’s (RDA) annual Christmas tree lighting will take place on Thursday, Nov. 16. Enjoy homemade chili, prepared by the good folks at Climate Control, and hot chocolate starting at 6 p.m. The tree lighting will take place at 7 p.m.

Milam CPS seeks donations, presents

The Milam County Child Protective Board is seeking presents and donations for children in their care so they can receive presents on Christmas Day. “We ask that folks spend $125 per child on presents.
