Caffey Reunion July 24 at Patterson Center

The Sanford and Lucy Caffey family reunion for friends and relatives will be held at Patterson Center adjacent to Fair Park on Saturday, July 24 at 10:00 am. A pot luck lunch will be served at noon with drinks, plates and utensils furnished.

City repairing sewer line

The intersection at Cherry Lane and Cameron Ave. will be closed to through traffic July 12 until approximately 6 p.m. for sewer line repairs.

WLM supporters fail to hold planned Lexington rally

A group called White Lives Matter distributed fliers about a rally it was planning for Saturday at noon on the downtown square in Lexington. Law enforcement officers gathered en masse to keep the peace should a disturbance break out, but all was quiet on the square from noon until 1 p.m.

Woman dies in accident outside Gause

A Taylor woman died early Tuesday morning in a traffic accident southwest of Gause after being struck by a semitruck on the shoulder of US 79.

Groundwater summit Aug. 9

The Milam and Burleson Counties Groundwater Summit will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 12. The summit is free and open to the public with lunch provided. Topics will cover a variety of issues. Speakers will discuss the status of water in Texas.
