RCS food pantry Rockdale Christian Services operates a food pantry at 224 West Cameron Avenue, open the second and fourth Thursday and Friday of the each month from 10 a.m. to noon.

Rockdale Homecoming scheduled for June 13 The Rockdale Homecoming Association is planning their 87th annual City of Rockdale Homecoming for June 13 at the Patterson Center. They were unable to have it last year due to COVID-19, but it is always the second Saturday in June.

Less than a month until school will be out for summer. Everyone busy making plans for summer? I’m sure if you ask your children what they want to do, they probably have a plan. I’m just hoping we don’t have many 100-plus days of heat. We have no plans.

Rockdale’s sale tax numbers stay in the positive column

Rockdale continues to barely inch by last year’s sales tax numbers staying in the black for March, according to the report from the Texas state comptroller. Thorndale’s March numbers slumped a bit at $12,924 from the February total of $14,501.
