I checked with the school to see if there were any upcoming activities. Nadine said they were busy getting everything finished up for the school year. I’m sure the teachers, staff and students are ready for the summer break. I’m guessing there are plenty of fun activities planned.

Starnes wins east side seat on Rockdale City Council

In the race for an east ward seat on the Rockdale City Council only 83 people cast ballots in eight days of voting. In the unofficial tabulation, Scott Starnes with 54 votes defeated incumbent Richard Coppedge who garnered 29 votes.

COVID-19 claims 48th life in the county

COVID-19 has taken another life in the county. "We have a 48th COVID-19 death to report. This was a younger female in the western part of the county. This is so sad. But for COVID-19 this person would be alive today," Milam County Judge Steve Young said in his daily email.
