Gause ISD eighty-grade graduation will be held in the school gym at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24. Thursday and Friday will be early release at 12:30 p.m. Friday is Awards Day and that begins at 8 a.m. in the school gym.

Milam Retired School Personnel elect officers, review busy year of work

Milam County Retired School Personnel Association (MCRSPA) met in the home of Lue Wenzel of Cameron May 15 for a covered dish luncheon. Highlight was a review of activities of the past year.

JUST THE BEGINNING—The transformation of 84-year-old Tiger Field into a brand new football and track facility is a big project in more ways than one. First task was to demolish the old facilities and within the first couple of days last week that was in high gear.

RHS val-sal revelation set Thursday

QUICK LOOK As has been the custom in recent years, names of Rockdale High School’s 2017 valedictorian and salutatorian will be announced Thursday. The annual RHS Awards Ceremony, during which the valedictorian, salutatorian and other honor graduates will be saluted, is set for 6:30 p.m.

City settlement dodges suit

The Rockdale City Council has apparently avoided litigation by taking a series of actions Monday designed to remedy a 26-year-old situation which left a water line on church property.

Yee-haw, Texas!

There’s no doubt where these first-graders hail from. The annual, and much-loved, “Texas” play was performed Friday in the Rockdale Elementary School Gym before an appreciative crowd of parents and guests.

‘It was much ado about nothing’

A Milano ISD teacher has been reinstated, and a student has been disciplined, after the school investigated a charge of an “inappropriate relationship” and found it baseless. Supt. Robert Westbrook told The Reporter Friday the rumor-filled flap turned out to be “much ado about nothing.
