CAMERON—Martha Mary (Vasicek) Tomek, 96 of Camer on died peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, at her home. Funeral Mass was held Friday, Aug. 27, at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak. Burial followed in the Sts. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery. Rosary was recited during visitation on Friday.

TAYLOR—Bostic Carroll Carter, or BC, a lifelong resident of Beaukiss, died Aug. 19, 2021, at the age of 90.

Kropp

TAYLOR—Frank James Kropp, 81, of Thorndale died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021. He was born March 12, 1940, in Taylor to Frank and Lillian (Stasny) Kropp of Granger.

Sweat

Ernest “Ernie” Sweat, 74, of Lexington died Monday, Aug. 16, 2021, at his home in Lexington. Following his wishes, his body will be cremated and no services are planned. Mr. Sweat was born March 19, 1947, in Hearne to Milton Dewitt and Lela (Closs) Sweat.

Whitmire

TEMPLE—Lillian Ruth Whitmire, 98, of Rockdale died peacefully surrounded by family Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021, at her residence in Temple. Private services will be held at a later date. She was born May 26, 1923, in Port Arthur to Wayne Slater and Oma McCombs Slater. She married Hoyt Whitmire on Nov.

Diver

Memorial services for Carmen Luz Diver, 80 of Rockdale will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, at Iglesia Cristiana Elim Assembly of God Church in Rockdale. Mrs. Diver was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, to Pedro and Alejandrina (Garcia) Hernandez on Oct. 26, 1940.

Glen David Dyer, 73, of Wharton died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug., 21, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Chaplain Robert Haight officiating. Visitation is set for 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
