Tigers selected to Academic All-State teams

On Tuesday, four RHS football players and two student trainers were named to the Academic All-State teams. Jennifer Langford was named to the academic allstate first team. Jace Robinson and Enrique Rivera were named second team academic allstate.

Lady Tiger JV notches another win

The JV Lady Tigers continued to impress this season as they defeated the JV Milano Eagles 30-19. Brooklyn Wager led the Lady Tigers with 18 points. Other scores included Alyssa Thompson 6, McKenna Lopez 2, Shakira Richards 2, Taylor Woolverton 2.

Rockdale JV gets another victory

The Tigers JV basketball team continued their hot start this season after claiming victory in their one contest this past week. On Friday, Rockdale hosted the Mumford Mustangs, winning 54-36. Wyatt Windham led the Tigers in scoring with 16 points.

RHS Freshman Team Basketball—On Saturday, the Tigers went head to head against the Thrall Tigers winning 57-15. Scorers: Damien Cortez 13, Tristan Jackson 12, Mario Casarez 11, Aiden Hirt 6, Wyatt Windham 5. RJH 7th Grade A Basketball—The RJH 7th Grade A basketball team defeated Rogers 27-8.

Thorndale football players earn spots on 2-A All-District teams

Several members of the Thorndale Bulldogs football team were named to the 2A District 13 All-District teams. Quarterback Coy Stutts was the top Bulldog award winner as he was named the Co-Offensive Newcomer of the Year.

Seven Eagles on All-District team

Seven Milano Eagle football players were named to the 2A Region IV District 13 All-District teams. Hector Munoz was named second team all-district as a wide receiver and defensive back. Greg Storey, Ryan Blakely and Weston Avrett were given honorable mention nods.

Milano Eagles win one, lose one

The Milano Eagles team had a solid performance this past week as they split their two contests. On Friday, the Eagles hosted the Iola Bulldogs. They were victorious 43-33. Jayce Todd was the leading scorer for the Eagles with 15 points.

Bulldog boys split week’s games

The THS Bulldogs continued their great start to the season as they went 1-1 this past week. On Friday, The Bulldogs traveled to Weimar to face a tough Wildcat squad. The Bulldogs played a tough game, but fell 46-36. Logan Davis led the Bulldogs with 15 points.

Thorndale girls lose two games

The Lady Bulldogs fell to 3-3 on the season after being defeated in both of their matchups this past week. On Friday, the Lady Bulldogs fell short against the Academy Lady Bees 49-31. Bailee Baker led all THS scorers with 17 points.

Respect still has a place in today’s society

A wise man once said, “The respect you show to others (or lack thereof) is an immediate reflection of yourself.” As I look at today’s world, there seems to be a lack of respect within a lot of people.
