Tigers had bye week The Rockdale varsity and JV team had their bye week last week. The JV will play the Academy Bumblebees on Thursday at Acadamy, while the varsity will play against Academy on Friday at home.

Football brotherhood was on the field Friday

When you play a sport, you tend to form a special bond with your teammates and coaches. These are the guys you’re around all the time. You laugh, cry and go to battle with these guys every week. It can feel like more of a brotherhood and family than just a normal friendship.

Tigers happy with win, face Academy Oct. 23

The Tigers look to have their swagger back after dominating the Caldwell Hornets 55-26. They are now 4-3 overall and 2-1 in district play. “I am really happy with the way we played, and particularly the way we continued to respond.” RHS Head Coach Jacob Campsey said.

RHS boys cross county gets 2nd

The RHS Boys Cross Country team continued their stellar season by placing second at the McGregor Invitational Meet on Saturday. The girls’ squad only had three runners compete and weren’t able to place as a team. However, each individual runner placed in the top 50.

Lady Tiger win one, lose one

The Lady Tigers continued to impress as Rockdale split two matches over the past week. CALDWELL—On Friday, Lady Tigers fell to the Caldwell Lady Hornets in three sets 12-25, 16-25 and 9-25. The Lady Tigers fought hard but struggled to stop the Lady Hornets offense.

Milano gets win, then loss

The MHS netters are now 8-8 on the season after splitting their two matches over the weekend. HOLLAND—On Saturday, the Lady Eagles were victorious against the Holland Lady Hornets in five sets 18-25, 15-25, 26-24, 25-21 and 18-16. McKenna Robertson led the Lady Eagles with 21 kills and seven blocks.

RJH boys’ cross-country wins second at McGregor

The RJH boys’ cross-country team had a great showing on Saturday placing second at the McGregor Invitational Meet. The meet featured Clifton, Rockdale, Robinson, Parkview Christian, Live Oak Classical and Academy. Both the boys and girls were required to run two miles for their races.

Rockdale JV prevails in close battle against Caldwell JV

On Thursday, the RHS JV Gold and JV Blue teams joined forces to face off against the Caldwell JV Hornets. The Tigers prevailed 24-14. Both defenses played great in the first quarter with neither team scoring any points.

Thorndale defeats Rosebud-Lott in defensive battle, 12-7

The Thorndale Bulldogs were victorious against the Rosebud-Lott Cougars 12-7 in a defensive slugfest. The bulldogs are now 4-2 on the season and 2-1 in district play. “I think it was a good learning experience for us,” THS Head Coach John Kovar said.

Milano falls to Granger, 43-13

The Milano Eagles failed to keep their win streak alive as they were crushed by the Granger Lions 43-13. The Eagles are now 2-4 on the season and 1-2 in district play. “We had a field goal blocked for a touchdown and then the wheels came off after that,” MHS Head Coach Chad Lagrone said.
