The RHS volleyball team continues to impress as Rockdale split two matches over the past week. The Lady Tigers traveled to Rogers on Friday to face off against the Lady Eagles. The girls lost the match in three sets 10-25, 16-25 and 18-25.

The RHS JV Gold team continued their dominant season defeating the division foe McGregor Bulldogs 31-0. With the win, the young Tigers are now 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in district play. The Tigers got off to a fast start on defense with Carson Eoff recovering a fumble.

The RHS Boys Cross Country team is on fire after winning their second meet in a row at the Cameron Invitational Meet on Saturday. The girls’ team placed fifth and had three runners finish in the top 25 spots. The meet featured Caldwell, Milano, Lexington, Chilton, Normangee, Rockdale and St.

RJH Tigers earned their first win of the season after defeating the McGregor Junior High Bulldogs 14-0. The Tigers are now 1-1 on the season. Defense prevailed in the first half as neither team scored any points. The Tiger defense played so well that they didn’t give up a single yard in the half.

Friday was the sixth annual Gold Out Game at Tiger Stadium. The event is a fund raiser, and promotes public awareness, to combat childhood cancer. Gold T-shirts were worn, both from previous Gold Outs and new this year.

The Rockdale Tigers faced their toughest test to date last Friday as the 4A No.6 ranked Bellville Brahmas came to town. However, the test ended up being too much for the Tigers as they lost the contest 42-14. “Overall, we did not stop the run like we should have,” RHS Head Coach Jacob Campsey said.
